How To Remain Consistent in Your Prayer Life (Beginner Tips)
Namaz is the sutoon of our Deen Islam. When a Muslim Girl/Boy reaches the age of 7, performing Namaz becomes Farz, but in today’s rush world, maintaining consistency in offering the five daily prayers can be challenging.
Canada Prayer Time intention in saying this is not that we have weak faith but to expose the reality that making resolutions is easy, converting those resolutions into reality can be difficult. Many Muslims, including me, often make clear-cut resolutions of praying 5 times prayer daily, especially during special Islamic events like Ramadan and Eid Milad-ul-Nabi. However, most of us, fail within days, weeks, or a maximum month.
Importance of Prayers
It’s important to remember that Namaz is the second pillar of Islam, and on the Day of Judgment, the first question Muslims will answer is about Namaz. We made promises to ourself but when it comes to fulfillment we always suffer. we also know that we are not struggling alone many others are with me too. As Muslims, we feel guilt after missing a prayer, but all we need is consistency to make Namaz into a habitual practice.
One more thing, it’s essential to start without any further delay; once your intention is clear, waiting for a specific day or month becomes irrelevant. When you have a clear intention, you will start doing the practice no matter what the situation is.
Strategies that we recommend
These are the strategies that we choose to make Namaz our habit:
Make A Routine
To make Namaz a habit, everybody needs a specific routine. Every Muslim has different tasks in a day to complete i.e. the timing of Jobs, School, Academy, or other responsibilities. Define your work timings and make a routine according to them. With a proper routine, we are sure that you will manage to pray 5 times a day with consistency.
Remember the Reward on Judgement Day
The best motivation for offering Namaz is its countless rewards. As we mentioned before Namaz is the second pillar of Islam and surely it has fruitful rewards in the Aakhrat. If we just think about the rewards there is no better push button for us to offer 5 Namaz a day.
Use Remainders
Set alarms on your mobile phones with specific Namaz names. This practice will help you to give a reminder for your Namaz in your busy days. we follow this strategy and it helps me to maintain consistency in a busy life schedule.
Prioritize Prayer over other activities
When you have clear intentions you will always prefer Namaz over any other activities. However, there are some emergencies but you will manage your time and give Namaz a priority even in an emergency condition. It’s a harsh reality that prioritizing Namaz as a beginner is difficult for a few days but once you make it your habit there is no turnback.
Pray on Time
Once you hear the call of prayer “Adhan” then don’t wait for the ending time of Namaz. You have to be active in this regard, when you hear Adhan just leave all the other activities and go for offering Namaz. However, it’s difficult to leave in a hurry while in an office meeting but it’s possible when doing other activities like playing or resting.
Use Prayer Apps
Download prayer apps on your mobile phones and enable their notifications. This will benefit you in two ways.
Less Social Media
Using Social Media has become one of the necessary things in this modern world. But using it too much is not the right path as it wastes much of your time. When you aim to be consistent in praying 5 times a day, try to minimize the use of social media. Once you have established your praying habit these things will automatically consume less time of your daily routine.
Don’t Make any Excuse
The most important thing you should remember while building your consistent praying habit is not to make any excuses when Namaz time arrives. Because these excuses are the leading cause of breaking consistency. If you remain dedicated as day 1 and avoid making any excuses, you will surely make prayer your habit.
Remain In Wudu
A best practice for offering Namaz with consistency is ablution “Wudu”. Doing Wudu includes simple steps and it can have a significant role in maintaining your consistency. Try to be in Wudu when you leave home for the office or any other place. Performing Wudu is a necessary step before offering prayer.
Make a Duaa
Muslims make Duaa to communicate with Allah Almighty. Duaa requires no specific time or location and Muslims believe that all Duaa’s are answered by Allah Almighty. We should make Duaa after every prayer, asking Allah Almighty to help us maintain our consistency in offering all Prayers at their specific times. Duaa is a powerful way in Islam to connect with Allah Almighty.
