Importance of Ramadan Month

Ramadan is considered the holiest month. It is the month of forgiveness and spiritual growth. Fasting during Ramadan is one of the Five Pillars of Islam, and it is considered the most important aspect of the month.

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (S.A.W), said:

When Ramadan enters, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hellfire are closed and the devils are chained.

(Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

Dua for Sehri:

وَبِصَوْمِ غَدٍ نَّوَيْتُ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ.

I intend to keep the fast for tomorrow in the month of Ramadan.

Dua for Iftar:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّى لَكَ صُمْتُ وَبِك أَمَنتُ وَعَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَعَلَى رِزْقِكَ أَفْطَرْتُ.

O, Allah! I keep fast for you, and I believe in you, and I put my belief in You, and I break my fast with your subsistence.

Importance of Laylatul Qadr

Laylatul Qadr is the night when Hazrat Jibreel(A.S) revealed the first few lines of the Quran to Hazrat Muhammad(S.A.W). It is also known as the Night of Power. On this night sins are forgiven and the supplications are accepted.

Allah Almighty stated in the Quran:

Behold, We revealed this (Qur’an) on the Night of Power. And what do you know what the Night of Power is? The Night of Power is better than a thousand months.

(97:1-97:3)

This statement shows why it is known as the Night of Power because the rewards of this night are immense.

Dua for Laylatul Qadr:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي.

O Allah, You are Forgiving and love forgiveness, so forgive me.
